We run approximately 6 exhibitions per year and are always interested to see new artist submissions for these. We work with a range of new emerging and established artists at various stages of their careers and we are always open to ideas for exhibitions and to be sent new work. Outside of our open calls, artists are invited to email Exhibitions Manager Emma Donovan at artgallerynorth@gmail.com with details about their work, practice and accompanying images.
Sign up to our mailing list by emailing artgallerynorth@gmail.com to find out about our next events and exhibitions.

FLOCK
08.08 – 20.09
A Multi-Generational Exhibition of Art That Celebrates The Power of Community & Collaboration
“The sense of community is the most essential element in building a better world.”
For their upcoming exhibition ‘Flock’, Gallery North invites submissions of artwork that explores the spirit of togetherness, of community and collaboration. The artist’s response to this can either be through the way that the work is created – as an example, it could be made by a collective or partnership of artists, friends, by a parent artist and child, or siblings (all other family or carer groups welcome). It could also be an individual artist’s interpretation of the theme. In a world full of chaos and unease, can we as individuals find solace in coming together as one, and use collaboration and community as a force for good.
For this exhibition we encourage artists of all ages (from the age of 4 and above), from all backgrounds and corners of the Sussex community and beyond to create, make and develop their art practice. We are especially interested in seeing artworks made by groups of individuals in a spirit of collaboration – be it within family groups, friendships groups, school classes, charitable organisations, work-place groups (as a small example). Collaboration is a the core theme.
We will be accepting all mediums and artworks can be made across the following 2d and 3d disciplines – painting (oils, acrylics, water-based mediums), drawing and mixed media, print-making and photography, textiles, ceramics, installation, metalwork and woodwork.
All artworks will need to be submitted as part of the Gallery’s selection process which is free to enter. 2D works must be ‘ready to hang’ and framed to a good standard (no clip frames) where necessary. Schools and/or children under the age of 18 are excluded from this. If work is made on paper, it will need to be mounted on card or board for extra durability for when the work is displayed.
3D works will be accepted and Gallery North can hang 3D work on the walls, from the ceilings, or for floor-based work – on plinths if needed. If you are submitting a sculpture, installation or alternate art form, please provide details on how your work can or should be displayed as this will help during the selection process.
To submit your work please email Emma at artgallerynorth@gmail.com for a submission form. If the artist is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must complete the form on their behalf. The minimum age for entries is 4 years old.
Hanging fees:
-For artists aged 21 and above – a single hanging fee of £15 will be required.
-For artists under the age of 21 there is no hanging fee. Minimum age to enter is 4 years old
-Donations to Gallery North are very welcome. Gallery North is a community centred, not-for-profit art gallery.
All artworks for sale will be subject to 20% commission. If the artist wants to offer their work for sale during this exhibition, please ensure the work is priced to reflect a 20% deduction.
For enquiries please contact Exhibitions Manager Emma Donovan at artgallerynorth@gmail.com
Submission deadline is 18.07.26. 9pm GMT
