VANISHING PLACE OPEN CALL 2026

28th March – 9th May 2026

This exhibition will be a reflective, searching exhibition that both celebrates and challenges the beauty of our precious land and seascapes, habitats and ecosystems – urban and wild, natural and man-made. 

We are inviting entries from artists at any stage in their careers who are creating work or have existing work that responds to this theme.  Submissions are welcomed from artists working in any medium across the 2D and 3D spectrum but predominantly painting, photography and wall-based work.

 Artists must organise the safe delivery (and collection if necessary) of their artworks during the week before the 28th March.  Further information will be sent out regarding receiving days and times. 

To apply, please fill in the form here and upload examples of up to three artworks with dimensions, prices and a short artist’s statement (no more than 500 words or 1 side of A4) by 9pm on 8th March 2026.

There is no fee to enter, however if you are accepted, a single hanging fee of £15 is required.
If you are selected for this exhibition, we will be in touch within one week after the submission date closes.  At this point, please ensure that you arrange payment of £15 to the following account: GALLERY NORTH / SORT CODE: 30-90-90 / ACCOUNT: 33742868 . Please include your name as reference so that we can track the payment. Please note that Gallery North’s commission is 20% on all sold works.

GALLERY NORTH NEW ARTISAN FESTIVE MARKET & WORKSHOPS

This festive season, we are delighted to launch a new festive market area within the gallery space to showcase a range of high quality artist-made artworks and gifts that will offer something unique, special and affordable this Christmas time.

The Festive Market area will be on display from the 8th November and open throughout the current exhibition. An array of artisan goods will be available to buy ranging including:

-Small artworks & unframed prints
-Textiles, bags & accessories
-Ceramics
-Wooden vases, bowls & sculptures
-Greetings cards & paper goods
-Garlands & decorations

FESTIVE CRAFT WORKSHOPS

Kickstart your festive season with a range of unique artist-led workshops taking place during the first two weeks of December.
Learn a new skill and make something truly special to gift or keep yourself in our range of artisan craft workshops.
