Requiem – David Armitage

15TH October – 30th November

A major exhibition of paintings – spiritual, haunting and deeply expressive, with music and colour as the defining elements.

This show demonstrates the artist’s extraordinary talent and overriding love of colour. From huge canvasses which dwarf the wall, to smaller domestic sized works, the paintings, mostly abstract, all have a narrative. The show also includes a selection of book illustrations for adults and children, some from The Lighthouse Keeper series which are now children’s classics and are read all over the world.

Hope Through Art

The gallery’s refugee project, which was developed in response to the displacement of so many people fleeing their home country from war and conflict, is taking place alongside existing exhibitions.

Refugees are invited to attend all Wellbeing through Art workshops for free. For further details please contact Jenny West on 07578023667 or email artgallerynorth@gmail.com

The refugee project is sponsored by the National Lottery Fund, Chalk Cliff Trust and Wealden District Council. It is supported by The East Hoathly and Halland Village of Sanctuary

Paintings by Ukrainian artist Tetiana Senchenko are now on display at the gallery, they depict the area she lived in East Ukraine, and many were painted before the war.
