Hailsham Community College Summer Show 2016

We are delighted to once again be hosting the Hailsham Community College Summer show – an annual showcase of art and photography work by Hailsham’s own A-Level and GCSE students. We hope you can join us!

Preview and inspiration

Preview of Robert Sparkes exhibition 2015

Artist Robert Sparkes entertained visitors to the gallery on Saturday 23rd May and talked about his painting processes and techniques.  The exhibition continues until 27th June, open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 4pm.

On Tuesday evenings the Hailsham Art Group is open to alto bring their own projects or come along and be inspired by the many works on show.

Creative Collage Classes at the Gallery

Tues 24th Feb and Tues 3rd March

For 2 Tuesday evenings, you can join Josie Tipler at Gallery North for creative collage (and paint) sessions. Materials you will need are:

coloured tissue papers (bleedproof)
PVA glue
jam jar and large glue brush
A3 (approx) white mountcard or white painted heavyweight cardboard/hardboard
Newspaper
Coloured pencils
Acrylic or gouache paints
 Paint brushes and palette
Other collage bits such as marbled papers, wool, netting, fabrics etc.
A reference picture to work from – I suggest a figure but it can be anything you like.

Each session is 2 hours, Tues 24th Feb and Tues 3rd March, 7-9pm at Gallery North (70 High St, Hailsham). £6 per session. You can do just one session but you really need to do both to be able to complete the project. BOOK YOUR PLACE with Josie (01323 485153) IN ADVANCE as space is limited.

Art Workshop – 24th March

On Monday 24th March, Josie Tipler will be running a 3 hour workshop at the gallery on Painting Animals in Pastels. The workshop runs from 2 til 5pm and the fee is £15 to include some materials. Please check with Josie what you need to bring (01323 485153).

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those wishing to try pastels as a new medium.

Please book your place in advance – the workshop will only run if there are sufficient numbers.
